Families will get emails in the summer about PTO events like the uniform sales. All students returning to the Academy will keep their devices for the summer. Please take good care of them so you are ready to start the year. Keep your eye out for details regarding Meet the Teacher Night and other back-to-school events. Have a safe and fun summer!- Nikki Wilfert (Principal)

Mrs Garrison is always happy to help in any way she can. Her bright smile fills up the library. We were glad to have her and I wish her a good retirement.- Luna Lopez Rosas

Mrs. Garrison has been an integral part of the Mesa Academy Team. She has given her time and love to so many students and families for over 30 years. Her experience has brought so much to our school from Book Fairs to lessons on the dui decimal system and ofcourse, Battle of The Books. We are so happy for her and her family. We will miss her greatly and now that retirement will be a great opportunity for her to do all of the things she enjoys like travel and spending time with her family. Thank you Mrs. Garrison for all of the joy you have brought to Mesa Public Schools and ofcourse Mesa Academy.

Student Council 2024-25

Scarlett Brown

Our Knights want to wish Mrs. Scarlett Brown a Happy Retirement. Mrs. Brown has been part of the MPS Family for many years mostly as a Spanish teacher at some of our junior and senior high schools. She joined our MAAS Team back in 2013 as our part time Spanish teachers. In 2022 she came back to MAAS as our counselor. We will miss her caring and funny personality. She went out of her way to make students feel cared for and alwyas had a story to share. We wish her the very best and thank her for all she has done for our students, families and staff. Ms. Brown was a great counselor. She always made kids feel comfortable and she could relate to almost anything. I know not everyone got the chance to really get to know her, but if you did, you know that she was a one-of-a-kind, sweet, and heartfelt person. We were so sad to see her leave but the time we got with her was wonderful.- Sydney Mitchell

Close-up 2024

8th grade Knights had another great trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the Close-Up program and tour the nation's Capitol. Close-Up is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, civic education organization that believes a strong democracy requires active, informed participation by all citizens. This program gives participants a deeper understanding of history, government institutions, current issues, and the role of citizens. This program is perfectly aligned with our 8th-grade social studies standards and helps our students further develop critical skills for tackling the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. Highlights of this year's trip were meeting other students from across the country, a tour of the Capitol, a day trip to Philadelphia, exploring the Smithsonian and a night visit to the Memorials.
